Slow motion for anxiety

This post is intended for those with great anxiety that tend to move around and express themselves very fast like a headless chicken

Practice moving around in slow motion privately

At first this will seem bizarre and unnatural, as your brain is used to being ordered to move around everywhere immediately. But you probably do not absorb information very well in such a state of mind. A bit like the tortoise and the hare. Another analogy (car) would be revving the engine in too low a gear. If you are a 'greyhound' type, and for instance jump when the phone rings, this may do you some good.

The idea is to move around slowly until you relax and move at a slower more approaiate speed naturally. When you are alone in the house, you can practice this as much as you like. For instance walking and anything physical in the house (e.g. doing the dishes).

If you are a greyhound type this will hopefully put you in a much more relaxed zone where you absorb more information and are in a much better state of mind.
